I have been a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist since 2005.
I write this in the beginning of 2023. After nearly 2 years of not working due to covid-19, my practice transitioned. Before the pandemic, the bulk of my practice was with the residents of Carolina Meadows, a Continuing Care Residential Community in Chapel Hill. Unfortunately my wonderful space at CM becme unavailable, so beginning in May 2021, I began slowly to work once again exclusively from my home in Carrboro.
My practice is small and consists (ideally) of clients who schedule regularly (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, even quarterly).
My treatment room is set up to easily sanitize most surfaces (table, face cradle, pillows, etc.). All linens including blankets are washed in hot water between sessions. I have an excellent, powerful air purifier in the treatment room. I am fully vaccinated and triple boostered against covid-19, and I mask during the session. I appreciate it when my clients mask as well, but that choice is theirs.
I offer a variety of bodywork modalities including Swedish and myofascial (deep tissue) massage. Licensure in North Carolina requires that I take many hours of continuing education. Some of the workshops I have attended include medical massage, trigger point therapy, acupressure, Chinese cupping, Healing Touch, osteoarthritis massage, lymphatic drainage, foot reflexology, and external colon massage with castor oil.
I can call upon whatever combination of techniques seems appropriate depending upon your needs at the time, and hopefully will send you home with some self-care resources as well (application of heat, cold, specific stretches, etc.).
Most every massage will include joint mobilization to enhance the production of synovial fluid, the lubricant of our joints.
Beyond covid protocol, I take the utmost care to provide a safe and nurturing environment, and one in which your privacy is honored. With every session you may expect to enjoy a clean and peaceful treatment room, a heated table fitted with all-cotton linens, hydrating scent-free organic massage cream, and soothing music. I have learned a number of energy healing techniques, that, with your permission, I can call upon as well, always with no additional charge.
Although I offer 60 minute sessions, often, more time would be beneficial. I find that 75 minutes allows time to address the full body with focus on trouble areas.
My charges are as follows:
60 minutes: $90.00
75 minutes: $105.00
90 minutes: $125.00
